As I've told my readers in other posts, Miami is a city full of residents and tourists that come from somewhere else! People here come specially from Latin-America. Are you from Colombia, Argentina, Mexico, or Peru, for example? You should visit Miami sometime in your life. Are you from Venezuela? Come on! You MUST come to Miami at least once in your life! This city won't disappoint you. There are 5 places that will make you have the best time of your life. I'll tell you why in the next lines.

1) La Victoria

If you're a Venezuelan coming to Miami, you're probably a person that likes partying and dancing. Let me guess what kind of music you like! Reggaeton and Merengue mainly. Am I wrong? I knew I wasn't... Then, La Victoria is the right place for you. It's an outdoor nightclub that plays the most successful latin music genres: Reggaeton, Merengue, Salsa, Bachata, etc. If it's your lucky night, you might even encounter some Venezuelan celebrities like Victor Muñoz (Merengue singer), or Juan Arango and Tomas Rincón (footballers).

Remember, don't forget your +21 i.d. and the girls! La Victoria is located around the Midtown area: 28 NE 40th St, Miami, FL 33137

2) "El Show de George Harris"

Being in Miami is like being in Venezuela. It doesn't matter if you live here, in South Florida, and you still miss your culture Why? Because you've got pretty much everything here that we used to have in Venezuela. Even though you are out of the country, you have the chance to go to the most Venezuelan stand-up comedy show you'll ever see. It's called "El Show de George Harris", run by Venezuelan comedian George Harris. He basically makes comments from a humorous perspective about the trending news from Venezuela and the world. He also tells anecdotes from his childhood in Venezuela, which reminds us to ours. It's a show where you'll remember your roots, laughing until you cry. The show is every Thursday at 10 pm in Flamingo Theater Bar, located in downtown. All you have to do is call to reserve a table. You may get food and any drinks you want, which will make you have an unforgettable night.

3) Miami Seaquarium

Are you looking for a family day trip in Miami? You probably are, not everything is clubbing and eating, right? This place is perfect to go with your parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts, etc. Here you'll be able to find a vast variety of sea animals. Since we have very few aquariums in Venezuela, this is a great opportunity to visit one if you haven't yet. You don't wanna miss the sea-lions show, where these animals go through water sledges, play with balls and even dance with the help of their trainer. You must also see the sharks and alligators in the flats. Tickets are $46 for adults and $36 for children. If you live in Miami, getting the annual pass is a great deal: Adults pay $60, children $50 and you can visit it as many times as you want within a year.

It is at the heart of the city: 4400 Rickenbacker Causeway, Miami, FL 33149

4) Marlins Park

As a "criollo" (a way to refer to Venezuelans), you gotta love baseball. It's our traditional sport by excellence. There's nothing more Venezuelan than eating an arepa while watching a Caracas - Magallanes. For those who aren't Venezuelan, this is the equivalent to a Yankees - Red Sox in the country. Both Caracas and Magallanes represent the biggest rivalry in the Venezuelan baseball. If you're a baseball fan, you can't miss a Miami Marlins game, the city's professional team. They have a beautiful, modern, astonishing ballpark that you will never forget. It's one of the newest from major league baseball. The floor of the outside part of the stadium has been designed by Carlos Cruz - Diez, one of the most famous Venezuelan artists ever. At the game, you may also enjoy of delicious Venezuelan food. The park has a restaurant called Panna's that serves good arepas and tequeños (breaded cheese sticks). This is not just any baseball park, this the only ballpark in the states that sells Venezuelan food!

You are in what is considered the best Venezuelan city (yeah, we count Miami as a Venezuelan city). Take advantage of that and enjoy all the options you have. Any questions? Please contact me!
